The Garden Technician is responsible for creating a weed free, neat, tidy garden and site clean up. 

1) Chemical free hand weeding with focus on removal of roots with attached weeds.
2) Deadheading spent blooms.
3) Pruning lower level dead branches on shrubs and bushes as well as removing cross branches.
4) Showcasing gardens.
5) Hedge trimming.
6) Unloading topsoil.
7) Applying pre-emergent weed deterrents.
8) Removing existing gardens and individual plants and bushes.
9) Planting new gardens.
10) Using spades, hand pruners, flower snippers, shears, loppers, shovels, rakes, hedge trimmers, blowers and other garden related tools.
11) Installing soaker/drip hose systems.
12) General seasonal yard clean up of leaves, branches and debris.
13) Loading garden debris into contractor bags or trailer.
14) Assisting with offload of debris at dump sites.
15) Watering.
16) Use blower for driveway and sidewalk clean up.
17) Tracking and reporting arrival and departure times.
18) Submitting timesheets.

QUALIFICATIONS
1)  Must possess a United States Social Security Number, a State Issued photo ID and be a citizen of the United States.
2)   Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
3)   Must have reliable transportation.
4)   Must be reliable and dependable.
5)   Must have attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
6)   Must have the ability to work independently without supervision.
7)   Gardening experience not required but must WANT to learn!
8)   Must be able to tolerate working in an outside environment, temperature fluctuations, working in dirt and mulch, and everything that comes with gardening!
9)   Must be able to stand, sit, kneel, twist, bend, stretch, reach above your head with hand tools, and walk distances.
10)  Must be able to dig, rake, snip flowers, cut overhead branches, load debris into a trailer and dig holes.
11)  Must have the ability to handle a blower, hedge trimmer and other gardening tools.
12)  Must have the ability to handle a wheelbarrow and pitchfork.
13)  Ability to lift 50 lbs.
 



 

Hand removal of lawn weeds, patching lawn holes with topsoil, dethatching, aerating, seeding and fertilizing lawns.

1) Hand removing weeds from lawn.
2) Filling holes in lawn with topsoil.
3) Dethatching lawn using a dethatcher towed behind a lawn mower.
4) Hand raking thatch and putting debris into contractor bags or onto trailer.
5) Aerating lawn using an aerator towed behind a lawn mower.
6) Applying soil conditioner, seed, fertilizer and weed control with a walk behind hopper.
7) Use blower for sidewalk and driveway clean up.
8) Setting up lawn sprinklers on timers. 
9) Submitting timesheets.

QUALIFICATIONS
1)  Must possess a United States Social Security Number, a State Issued photo ID and be a citizen of the United States.

10)   Must have the ability to walk distances behind a hopper/spreader while pushing at the same time.   
11) Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Removing old mulch as needed and installing new mulch.

1) Removing old mulch in gardens, if needed, using a rake and wheelbarrow.
2) Loading old mulch onto a trailer for disposal.
3) Installing new mulch from a trailer using a pitchfork and wheelbarrow, or installing bags of mulch.
4) Spreading mulch evenly on garden surfaces and around plants.
5) Tamping down mulch edges on steep slopes to prevent mulch spillover.
6) Use blower for sidewalk and driveway clean up.
7) Assist with disposal of old mulch at dump site.
8) Submitting timesheets.
